Autumn Ragwort

I think the plant here is Ragwort with daisy-like yellow flowers in summer then dandelion-like seed heads. Photographed in October after the seeds have blown.

Shot with a 400mm lens at f/5.6 to bring out the foreground and then some post-processing treatment adding stained-glass-like colours to enhance the overall abstract look.

From the Workhouse Window

I was struck by this view through a cellar window at Southwell Workhouse with outside looking as dismal as inside.

Rain on Tarn Hows 2

Another photograph captured on a wet day at Tarn Hows in the Lake District.

Loved the matching brightly coloured clothes and umbrellas of the women against the grey and misty lake. Also liked the juxtaposition of the umbrellas.

The Milky Way over The Stiperstones

The Milky Way over the Stiperstone Rocks near the Long Mynd in Shropshire. One of the few places in England with a moderately dark night sky.
